Success for Eurostar’s new ski routes
Eurostar has seen a surge in bookings since launching its new weekly Swiss ski service.
Since its inaugural service on Saturday December 22, connecting London with some of the finest ski resorts in Switzerland, Eurostar has seen a boost in its figures.
The new ski service will travel from London to Zermatt, Saas-Fee and Gstaad throughout the ski season until April 13, 2013. It is expected that throughout the winter season, more than 160,000 ski enthusiasts will use the service.
The train will transit through Lille, where high-speed trains connect passengers with their final destination.
The service also allows all passengers to transport their ski/snowboard equipment for free.
Nick Mercer, commercial director for Eurostar commented, “We’re expecting this to be one of our busiest festive periods for years.
“Our French ski service grows in popularity year on year and with our new Swiss Alps ski service launching as well we’re expecting a bumper 2012 festive period.”
