New York City’s beloved Central Park received a $100 million donation from billionaire John Paulson, one of the largest monetary contributions ever made to a New York City cultural institution.
Paulson, who made his personal fortune with the Paulson & Co. Inc investment fund, told the media, “It is my hope that today’s contribution will help [Central Park] endure and flourish and inspire others to join me in ensuring that the Park continues to receive the support it needs to be this city’s greatest asset.”
Central Park receives more than 40 million annual visitors, making it the most-visited New York cultural institution.
